교보아트스페이스에서 열린 「디지털 시대의 회화, 하양」은 디지털 환경 속에서 회화가 어떻게 변화하고 확장되는지를 탐구하는 전시다. ‘하양’을 회화의 출발점이자 디지털 스크린의 은유로 설정하고, 동시대 작가들의 작업을 통해 이미지 생산 방식과 감각 체계의 변화를 조명한다.
전시 디자인에서는 회화적 물성과 디지털 이미지 구조의 대비를 핵심 전략으로 삼았다. 붓질의 질감과 레이어의 깊이를 유지하면서, 비트맵 기반 그래픽과 저해상도 픽셀 구조를 결합해 아날로그와 디지털이 교차하는 시각 시스템을 구축했다. Y2K Web 감성에서 차용한 분절된 이미지 배열과 화면 구성 방식을 통해, 스크린 환경에서 이미지가 생성·해체·재조합되는 과정을 시각화하고, 회화가 디지털 시대에 확장되는 방식을 그래픽적으로 해석했다.
“Painting in the Digital Age: White” at Kyobo Art Space examines how painting transforms and expands within a digital environment, positioning “white” as both the origin of painting and a metaphor for the digital screen.
The design focuses on the contrast between painterly materiality and digital structure, combining brushstroke textures with bitmap-based, low-resolution pixel graphics inspired by Y2K web aesthetics. Through fragmented layouts and screen-like compositions, the visual system interprets how images are generated, deconstructed, and reassembled in the digital age.
